Senior Electrical & Control Engineer
Location: South Florida
Compensation: $125,000 – $145,000 base salary + bonus + Relocation Package
About the Role: This is a senior electrical and controls engineering role with a commercial HVAC equipment manufacturer building complex applied equipment for industrial, commercial, and mission critical environments. The right person will own the electrical design, control architecture, and programming that allow the equipment to operate safely, reliably, and efficiently.
This is a strong fit for someone with controls development experience who understands how electrical design, control logic, factory testing, and real equipment operation all come together. You’ll work closely with engineering, manufacturing, service, and product teams to support both new designs and active production.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Lead electrical and controls design for commercial HVAC equipment and custom factory orders.
- Develop and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control logic, control panels, and system architecture.
- Program and integrate PLCs, controllers, VFDs, sensors, BAS interfaces, and communication protocols.
- Ensure electrical designs meet NEC, UL, safety, quality, and product compliance requirements.
- Support manufacturing during assembly, wiring, testing, troubleshooting, and startup.
- Prepare technical documentation including test procedures, operation manuals, compliance reports, and control sequences.
- Work with vendors on controls components, sensors, instrumentation, drives, and related electrical hardware.
- Support R&D, product improvement, and junior engineer development as the controls subject matter expert.
About You:
- 7+ years of electrical engineering, controls engineering, automation, or control system design experience.
- Commercial or industrial HVAC equipment experience is required.
- Strong PLC programming, control logic, electrical design, and control panel experience.
- Experience with VFDs, sensors, instrumentation, wiring diagrams, and industrial communication protocols.
- Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, BAS integration, or HVAC equipment controls.
- Comfortable supporting production, testing, troubleshooting, and field/service-related technical issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related technical field.
- PE license is preferred but not required.
