Project Executive
Location: Houston, TX
Compensation: $180k – $200k + 50% bonus
Car Allowance – $1,100/month and company gas card
About The Role: This is a senior leadership role responsible for the delivery of a large, mission-critical mechanical construction project. The position has full accountability for execution, financial performance, team leadership, and client coordination within a plan-and-spec environment.
You’ll operate as the senior on-site leader, aligning internal teams, field leadership, and project stakeholders to drive schedule, cost, and quality outcomes. This role is best suited for someone who takes ownership of both the work and the relationships behind it, with a strong presence in high-stakes, schedule-driven projects.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Lead execution strategy for a large, complex mechanical project, including scope, schedule, staffing, and sequencing
- Oversee project planning, handoff, documentation control, and coordination with prefabrication and field operations
- Guide project managers, senior project managers and field leadership through execution planning, risk mitigation, and schedule control
- Lead project reviews and drive recovery strategies, productivity improvements, and schedule alignment
- Manage change orders, scope adjustments, and commercial discussions with clients and partners
- Monitor job cost, productivity, and forecasting to ensure financial targets are met.
- Serve as a senior point of contact for project execution, issue resolution, and escalation
- Identify and resolve project challenges related to scope, schedule, and cost
- Lead project meetings and communicate updates to internal and external stakeholders
- Support project closeout including punch lists, final inspections, and turnover
- Review takeoffs, pricing, and scope for change orders and project adjustments
- Maintain strong safety leadership across all assigned projects
About You:
- 15+ years of experience leading commercial mechanical construction projects
- Proven experience delivering large-scale, complex mechanical systems in mission-critical or industrial environments (data center experience strongly preferred)
- Strong understanding of plan-and-spec project delivery and GC coordination
- Advanced ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Deep knowledge of HVAC, piping, and mechanical systems execution
- Strong financial acumen, including forecasting, cost control, and project performance management
- Experience leading large teams in schedule-driven, high-pressure environments
- Confident communicator with owners, contractors, and internal leadership
- Comfortable taking full ownership of project outcomes, team performance, and client relationships
