Assistant Project Manager
Location: Austin, TX
Compensation: Salary $75k – $100k + 50% bonus
About The Role: This role supports the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial mechanical construction projects within a plan-and-spec environment. You’ll work directly alongside Project Managers and field leadership to help drive projects forward, while building the foundational skills needed to step into a full Project Manager role.
This is a hands-on, growth-oriented position for someone who wants to be in the middle of the action — learning how projects are built, how decisions are made, and how to manage both the work and the relationships behind it.
What You’ll Be Doing:

Support Project Managers in the execution of commercial mechanical construction projects from start through closeout

Assist with project planning, scheduling, and coordination of manpower and resources

Help manage procurement of equipment, subcontractors, and materials

Track project costs, maintain documentation, and support forecasting efforts

Coordinate submittals, RFIs, and project documentation to ensure alignment with contract requirements

Work closely with field leadership to support day-to-day operations and jobsite needs

Participate in project meetings with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients

Assist in managing change orders, pricing, and supporting documentation

Perform jobsite visits to stay aligned with field progress, safety expectations, and quality standards

Help maintain project schedules, reporting, and communication across stakeholders

Support continuous improvement of project processes and execution
About You:

2–5 years of experience in construction or a related field (mechanical experience preferred)

Exposure to HVAC, piping, or plumbing systems is a plus

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and project documentation

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Detail-oriented with a proactive, problem-solving mindset

Strong communication skills and ability to work across teams

Familiarity with construction software (Procore, Bluebeam, etc.) is a plus

Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Desire to grow into a Project Manager role over time
