Meet Michael - Owner of Growing HVAC

I am a husband to my amazing wife Mera, father to 2 incredible kids, a huge college football fan (WE ARE PENN STATE!) and an outdoorsman. I moved to Colorado in 2010 to rock climb, backpack, kayak, and hike.
 

In 2017 my wife and I took sabbaticals and spent 6 months traveling through China and Southeast Asia. The immersion in other cultures was life changing! When our kids are older we hope to take them to as many countries as possible.
 

I’ve spent most of my life in HVAC. My father worked for a residential / light commercial contractor. He got me my glamorous start as a sheet metal shop hand wrestling insulation and wrapping ductwork. After high school I completed an apprenticeship and worked in commercial HVAC. 

In 2008 I went to Penn State and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business. I did my degree in 3 years by going full time in the summer. After college I got into commercial design build sales and spent the next 12+ years in sales and sales management within the HVAC Business. 

Since 2021 I’ve been a recruiter in the HVAC industry where my intimate knowledge of the industry helped me connect with candidates and advise company owners.

When I’m not working, I’m with my family. I love being a father and watching my little ones (7 month old & 3 year old) grow and learn.
 

Last year I started creating content on LinkedIn. My goal has been to focus on value add content – sales tips, best practices, ways to retain talent, or hiring strategies.
 

The most valuable thing I’ve learned in the last year is to focus only on what I have control of.

If you made it this far – I did stand up comedy in my early 20s. I’m an avid comedy fan and love the history of comedy.

I am an accomplished executive recruiter with eight years of experience specializing in the HVAC industry. My primary focus has been on supply chain and operational roles, where I have made significant contributions by matching top talent with organizations that are poised for growth.

In addition to my specialization in the HVAC sector, I bring a wealth of experience in business development. My ability to forge valuable partnerships and drive strategic initiatives has been instrumental in the expansion of both my clients' businesses and my own professional portfolio.

Beyond my career, I am a loving wife and a dedicated mother to my 12-year-old son, who is deeply involved in sports. I not only thrive in my professional life but also passionately support my son's athletic pursuits, you can find me on the sidelines as his biggest cheerleader in various sports competitions.

In my free time, I share my home with a big-hearted French Mastiff named Vito, who adds an extra layer of warmth and companionship to our family.

My multifaceted life is marked by my professional excellence, active involvement in my son's sporting adventures, and my roles as a wife and pet owner!

I was born and raised in Colorful Colorado, I grew up in Longmont and moved up north to Fort Collins for college. Having lived there for 21 years, I developed a love for skiing, mountain getaways, camping, and brewery hopping.

I love animals! In college, my roommates and I fostered 20 dogs. I grew up with a German Shephard-Chow Chow mix and two cats, and I just adopted my little Scottish Fold/Maine Coon/Munchkin mix, Tofu last year.

Although I may be musically talentless, I would consider music to be one of my top passions and motivators. My taste is all over the place, from folky-alternative, to EDM, to country, I love it all. My favorite place in the world is Red Rocks Amphitheater, not only is it close to home, but it’s the most breathtaking concert venue I’ve attended.

I have a devotion to Women’s Rights & LGBTQ+ advocacy which began in high school when I created an awareness campaign for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. I pride myself on staying politically and socially aware for the sake of these groups throughout my life. My experience in project management and marketing for awareness is what led me to pursue a business degree.

I graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science in business administration and a focus on marketing branding, communications and analytics. Throughout my undergrad experience I discovered my passion for marketing and utilizing my creative talents. 

I started at Growing HVAC as a marketing intern, now I am the Talent Acquisition Associate and Marketing Manager. I love getting to build relationships and expand my knowledge in the recruiting industry while continuing to develop marketing and outreach efforts for the company.
