Application Engineer
Location: Fully Remote in the US
Compensation: $70k – $80k

About the Role: You’ll be the on a team of application engineers, working on custom air handling equipment design. Specifically, when the sales team has projects in play, you’ll take the plans and specs and figure out ways the factory can build equipment that will perform as desired.

This is a strong fit for someone early in their HVAC career who likes digging into mechanical drawings and solving problems a catalog can’t. No two projects look the same, so you’ll learn fast how custom equipment comes together, from the drawing set all the way to what the plant can actually build.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Support a team of salespeople with the technical “how to” they need to win
  • Review mechanical plans, specifications, and equipment schedules to pin down what each project requires
  • Select, size, and price custom HVAC equipment to match the application
  • Produce submittals and equipment layout drawings using 2D CAD and selection software
  • Spot alternatives and value-engineering options when the basis-of-design equipment isn’t the best fit
  • Work through manufacturing constraints with engineering, drafting, and production to land a design the plant can build
  • Answer technical questions quickly and accurately, and resolve submittal comments as projects move forward
  • Build deep working knowledge of the full product line and where each piece fits best

About You:

  • MUST HAVE: HVAC experience (1–3 years)
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (any discipline), physics, or mathematics
  • Experience with custom air handling or other engineered HVAC equipment is a strong plus
  • Comfortable reading mechanical plans, specs, and schedules and turning them into system requirements
  • Proficient in 2D CAD and Microsoft Excel
  • Organized enough to run several projects at once without letting details slip
  • Clear, responsive communicator who works well with sales and the factory team
