Regional Sales Manager

Location: Remote — based between the Washington, DC and New York City metros

Compensation: Base $120k – $150k with 30% bonus. The 30% bonus is an uncapped target that progresses linearly.

Car Allowance: $600/month

Travel: This role can require travel up to 75%.

About the Role: This is a channel sales role with a growing manufacturer of venting and related products used with high-efficiency furnaces and boilers. You’ll own an East Coast territory that stretches from Maine to Florida — with the large majority of the activity concentrated north of Richmond, VA — managing the independent manufacturer’s rep firms and wholesale distributors who take the product to market. The goal is to grow existing channel partners and open new business through two-step distribution; you won’t be selling direct.
This is a strong fit for someone who knows the rep-and-distribution model and how to create pull-through demand. Beyond managing the channel, you’ll get in front of large contractors, win their preference for the product, and route that business back through distribution. It’s a high-autonomy, heavy-travel role (up to 75%) built for someone who likes owning a big territory and driving the numbers themselves.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Manage and grow the independent rep firms and wholesale distributors across the territory
  • Build and execute an annual territory plan — mapping opportunities, setting targets, and forecasting demand
  • Prospect large contractors to win product preference, then route that business through distribution
  • Train and coach rep firm salespeople to position and sell the product line
  • Win specifications and grow adoption through product training, quoting, and code-driven opportunities
  • Drive channel engagement through seminars, regional trade shows, and distributor and engineering visits
  • Report on market trends, competitor activity, pricing, and technology shifts
  • Manage pricing within guidelines and recommend special pricing where it wins the deal

About You:

  • 5+ years of sales experience in the plumbing or HVAC industry
  • Proven success managing manufacturer’s rep firms and wholesale distributors in a territory
  • Comfortable generating demand directly with large contractors and pulling it through distribution
  • Strong grasp of two-step distribution and channel sales
  • Able to operate across both a smaller-company and a corporate reporting environment
  • Willing to travel up to 75% and based within about an hour of a major airport
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or engineering preferred; equivalent experience considered
