Title: Parts Manager, Residential

Location: Denver, CO

About this Opportunity: This is a newly created role with an existing client. This will be a unique blend of sales strategy, prodcut line evaluation, and technical training. You'll help the company select new parts to carry, drop non-performing skus, and help the sales team drive strategic growth through a value based B2B sales process.

About You:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in the HVAC distributor industry.

  • At least 4 years of HVAC sales experience, with territory management preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including residential new construction and add-on replacement products.

  • Advanced skills in relationship building, strategic selling, and customer service.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and CRM tools.

  • Ability to calculate and analyze figures such as discounts, profit margins, and unit conversions.

  • Self-motivated and capable of functioning autonomously or as a team player.

  • Skilled at identifying market trends and implementing competitive sales strategies.

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Sales:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive parts and supplies product portfolio tailored to residential contractors.

  • Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitor offerings to inform product strategies.

  • Meet monthly with Residential Territory Managers to evaluate parts opportunities and create targeted plans for accounts.

  • Monitor and analyze sales performance by product, account, and branch to identify growth opportunities.

  • Collaborate with the purchasing team to ensure accurate inventory levels, including seasonal products.

  • Manage vendor relationships and vendor rebates, serving as the primary contact for multiple vendors.

  • Create programs, events, and promotions to drive parts business, such as open houses and branch events.

  • Assist in implementing parts programs, including B2B platforms, parts incentives, and promotions.

  • Conduct joint sales calls with the team to grow new business and improve customer engagement.

  • Oversee onboarding and training for new products, ensuring smooth launches with marketing materials and initial orders.

  • Address slow-moving and dead inventory through analysis and improvement initiatives.

Training:

  • Develop and deliver training classes for specific product lines.

  • Create materials and presentations to support ongoing learning initiatives.

  • Provide training on new products for sales teams, vendors, and branch managers.

  • Support training efforts with collateral and professional sales calls (PSC’s).

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Sales and Margin Growth:

    • Monitor sales goals by product, account, branch, and outside sales representative.

    • Report monthly progress to the VP of Parts.

  • Percentage of Sales to Total Business:

    • Track and evaluate performance by Territory Manager and branch.

    • Provide monthly updates to the VP of Parts.

  • New Product Introduction:

    • Assess the success of new product launches and their contribution to overall sales.

    • Monitor growth by branch and salesperson.

  • Supplier Performance:

    • Evaluate suppliers on delivery times, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Parts Program Effectiveness:

    • Conduct quarterly inspections of parts programs, analyzing ROI and performance.

    • Report findings to the VP of Parts.
